A couple of things. Believe should be belief in the narrative. I'm not sure it will take "months of hard work" - if so - what kind of 'work' fixes this, and who is going to re-teach this brother to recognize his worth? But it will take someone who this person trusts to help straighten out his thinking. His situation with his wife will not help. I suspect his 'failure' with her is going to be a repeat.
